Some stories are best told in the dark. Our work is a 2-part “shine and shadow” journey into the wilds of spellcraft, ceremony, and myth. The Mythic Witchcraft Apprenticeship is essentially a conscious exploration of your “living craft” and “living story,” supported closely by Danielle in a non-hierarchical partnership.
To be humble means to be “close to the earth.” The apprenticeship is an intentionally humble offering, a weaving of your own experience with what wisdom Danielle has to share about word-witchery, embodied magick and spellcraft, and what it means to have a “living craft” in a wounded and wondrous world. Consider the apprenticeship as a hearty meal prepared with much love; you are invited to taste all of it, to eat as much as you like, but there is absolutely no pressure to devour every little bite that’s been prepared for you. Everything in the apprenticeship is an invitation. If there is a component of the work that does not suit your life and/or path you already walk, we will adjust accordingly.
This is the 11th incarnation of the Mythic Witchcraft Apprenticeship program, a small-group container closely facilitated by Danielle. The 2026 foundational apprenticeship is offered completely online, with optional participation in four virtual immersions, one-on-one sessions with Danielle, deep evaluation of the “Shine Project” and the “Shadow Project,” and weekly work included in the 2026 program. Completion of this foundational apprenticeship or the Bones & Folklore program is now required for all in-person offerings, immersions, and retreats.
Live participation in the virtual immersions is encouraged but not necessary. You do not need to attend the immersions live in order to complete the apprenticeship, but you are strongly encouraged to do so if you’re able. For the virtual immersions, everything is recorded so participants can view the content later.
The program is grounded in an “everything is an invitation” philosophy. You will not get booted from the program because you do not attend or complete something. We know this goes against our academic training (and requires a little witch’s self-discipline). You decide how much or how little you want to do. You will have access to all materials and recordings for at least three years after the program ends (or they can be downloaded and kept forever and ever).
Completion of this foundational Mythic Witchcraft Apprenticeship is required before moving on to the Myth-Tender program, essentially the “advanced apprenticeship” and, more importantly, a deep experience of ritual and spell co-creation that includes ongoing invitations to in-person immersions. Myth-Tenders are also invited to participate in the House of Night ritual facilitator training.
We begin in February 2026, as we move from our timely midnight and walk into the dawn. Part I of the program highlights the “shine” over the shadow and follows the first cross-quarter day of the linear year. This is a 13-Week wedding of witchcraft to the wild self. We begin with a one-day, virtual immersion where we meet our first “story lantern” and head into our shared, underground forest where all strange things are afoot. Stories are the original spells, after all. We will allow the mythic intelligence to guide our spell-work, to open portals for the “wild unseen” to find us, and to gift us with the personal insight we require.
Part I includes the following tools: Honing and wielding the 5-part spell, time-weaving as a witch’s skill, prophetic dream-work, body prayer in spell containers, the witch’s “personal myth” tracking, using the hidden “psychic house” for manifestation, ancestral healing, and divination, the witch’s discernment practices, “mythic vision,” and wielding paradox energy for “energy raising” in the spell container.
Participants will learn to work with 8 stories throughout the course of the foundational apprenticeship, 4 of which are offered as part of the work and 4 of which are discovered by the apprentices as they move through the equinoxes, cross-quarter days, and solstices. We work with these stories in our spellwork, pathworking, ritual, and personal myth-tracking.
After the introductory immersion, there will be weekly work as participants slowly build their “Shine Project,” a personal expression of their Imbolc-Beltane work in the program. Part I also includes a 60-minute, one-on-one session with Danielle where the work is explored and reviewed before our second immersion in May. Apprentices can expect to spend a minimum of 1 hour per week on the work if they go all-in; this does not include the optional, recommended reading.
February 21st, 2026: Our Midnight Shine Immersion: 11am-2pm ET (Includes a 20-Minute Break)
Weeks 1-3: The Haunted Borderlands and Waking the Witch
Weeks 4-6: The Spring Story and Initiatory Spellcrafting
Weeks 7-9: Ancestral Resourcing and Sympathetic Magick
Weeks 10-13: The Shine Project
May 16th, 2026: Our Looming Dawn Immersion: 11am-2pm ET (Includes a 20-Minute Break)
Part II of the foundational program begins in August of 2026, as we move from dusk and walk into the deep night. Part II of the program highlights the “shadow” over the shine and follows the First Harvest cross-quarter day until Samhain, the last cross-quarter day of the linear year. The work is potent here, during this haunted time, and we begin with our immersion that leads us all into the fertile dark. Here, we hone our night vision, call the long-gone-still-here ancestors, and begin to walk with one foot in the Otherworld.
After the introductory immersion for Part II, there will be weekly work as participants slowly build their final “Shadow Project,” a personal expression of their First Harvest-Samhain work in the program. Part II also includes a 60-minute, one-on-one session with Danielle where the work is explored and reviewed before our fourth and final immersion in October.
Invitations to the advanced Myth-Tender program are given at that time. The advanced Myth-Tender program (essentially, the “Level II” of the apprenticeship program) is for those who complete the foundational program and wish to continue to the advanced program which includes an in-person immersion and embodied, mythic coven experiences. Most who complete the foundational apprenticeship are invited to move on to Myth-Tender and join Danielle for deeper work if they so choose. Completion of this foundational, (virtual) apprenticeship is required before moving on to the advanced Myth-Tender program, but there is absolutely no pressure to move on to Myth-Tender after completing this foundational program.
August 29th, 2026: Our Shadowed Sunset Immersion: 11am-2pm ET (Includes a 20-Minute Break)
Weeks 1-3: Banishing Magick and the Witch’s Shadow + Myth-Tender Invitations
Weeks 4-5: Alternate Timeline (AKA “Past Life”) Exploration
Weeks 6-7: Lineage Mending and the Autumn Story
Weeks 8-9: The Shadow Project
October 24th, 2026: Our Witching Hour Immersion: 11am-2pm ET (Includes a 20-Minute Break)
Undergirding the apprenticeship is the value of conceiving of each lunar cycle as a season in and of itself, of integrating “Witchcraft” into the everyday, and of permitting these practices to ebb and flow as they will. Danielle believes that Witchcraft is a way of being in and seeing the world as well as an art, and no one will “live” their Craft in precisely the same way. By extension, the curriculum is not universal and is always tailored to each apprentice’s experience.
We source strength and power from the forebears and will continually honor the particular magick that runs in the apprentice’s blood in order to engage in ancestral healing and ground the Craft in the bones.
In addition to longer ceremonies and rituals that mark seasonal transitions, apprentices will be encouraged to develop micro-rituals that are shorter in duration and adaptable to various schedules and the specific, lived circumstances of the apprentice.
We will use story and myth in multiple ways, with personal myth-writing becoming a practice of sense-making and reflection. Story will be used in our ritual work, ancestral healing, and for divination and oracular purposes.
Apprentices will create (and recreate) altars to serve as a structural heart, of sorts, for our work together.
Apprentices will be invited to create prayers of the body through dance, fluid movement, and breathwork to be used as daily practices and in spell-work. In many ways, “body prayer” is at the heart of our spellcrafting. Ritual must be embodied.
Apprentices will be led through pathworking experiences in both Parts I and II; such experiences are designed to gain clarity, to commune with ancestors, and for other such purposes.
In many ways, the apprenticeship is shaped according to the seasonal- both solar and lunar- transitions, and apprentices will be guided to create their own ceremonies and rituals, to be carried out either solitarily or in-circle.
All apprentices will work with two journal-type books; one is a typical space for note-taking, writing, and such scribbles, and the other is a Book of Shadows and Shine that will become a more permanent reflection of the apprentices’ “living Craft,” within which the self-designed rituals, spells, body prayers, daily practices, poetry, invocations, and many, many other pertinent aspects of the apprentice’s experience will be written. The Book of Shadows and Shine will inspire the “Shine Project” at the end of Level I and the “Shadow Project” at the end of Level II.

Danielle is a heathen visionary, Aquarian mischief-maker, storyteller, and word-witch. The author of The Night House: Folklore, Fairy Tales, Rites, and Magick for the Wise and Wild, Bones & Honey: A Heathen Prayer Book, The Holy Wild Grimoire, The Sacred Hags Oracle, Seasons of Moon and Flame: The Wild Dreamer’s Epic Journey of Becoming, Woman Most Wild: Three Keys to Liberating the Witch Within, The Sacred Hags Oracle, and The Holy Wild: A Heathen Bible for the Untamed Woman, she teaches internationally and has facilitated circles, embodiment trainings, communal spell-work, and seasonal rituals since 2007. She is a continuing education provider (YACEP) through Yoga Alliance, the founder of The Hag School, and a firm believer in the emerging power of wild collectives and sudden circles of curious dreamers, cunning witches, and rebellious artists in healing our ailing world. Parent to two beloved wildlings and partner to a potter, Danielle fills her world with nature, family, and intentional awe. Find her praying under pine trees in upstate New York or walking the whiskey-soaked streets of a Pennsylvania steel town, whispering to her grandmothers’ ghosts all the while.
A. Yes. Danielle believes identifying as a Witch is a personal choice, and that Witchcraft is an art. You can practice Witchcraft without identifying as a Witch, in other words.
A. Most non-techie people can handle the work we do during the apprenticeship. The one-on-one sessions with Danielle and immersion meetings are offered through “Zoom” and you receive the recording of the meeting via email. We will also have an online group on “Basecamp” to connect with one another; this is our alternative to a Facebook group. It is a matter of accepting an invitation to The Hag School’s “Basecamp” and checking it every so often.
A. We’re flexible on this. All is recorded for those who are unable to join live.
A. We prefer to not hold spots in these small group programs, but you may email Info@DanielleDulsky.Com to request a payment extension if you know the date on which you can make payment. Note that if we are down to the last few spots in the program, we may not be able to offer payment extensions.
A. If you participate in the foundational program immersions and submit your Shadow and Shine projects, you will likely be invited to join Myth-Tender. During the one-on-one sessions, you can discuss the details of Myth-Tender with Danielle to make sure the program is a good fit. There is no additional application for the Myth-Tender program, but you are required to complete the foundational apprenticeship before moving on to Myth-Tender.
A. These are a (very open) personal expression of the apprentice’s work in Part I and Part II of the foundational program. As a reflective synthesis, the projects might include written spells, poetry, charm-craft, altar photos, paintings, body-prayer, and more. All projects will align with the participant’s unique application of the material.
A. While we have had apprentices who live in the Southern Hemisphere join the apprenticeship program in past years, we do want to emphasize that the reversal of the seasons as well as the time zone differences can make it difficult to navigate this new program structure. If you still feel very called to join and believe you could manage the seasonal and time differences, fill out the application and Danielle will send additional information to see if the program is a good fit.
A. Danielle is a huge book nerd and will give you a lengthy list of “recommended reading” upon enrollment. However, you do not need to read every book. Almost everything in the apprenticeship is an invitation.
A. There is a space to ask questions on the application or, if you need to know the answer before applying, please email Info@DanielleDulsky.Com and we will get back to you.
